A very warm welcome to you and thank you for your visit. The issue of water affects every man, woman and child on the planet in some way or another.
My interest in creating this blog site lies in providing people like you and me with a platform from which information about water and related issues can be shared – information which seeks to enable us to make more informed decisions and choices about how, for example, we use and conserve our precious resource of water – not only for our generation, but for the generations to come.
Note that I have no affiliations to any body or institution be they commercial or political entities – the service I provide is completely voluntary. If I achieve nothing more than to raise the general awareness of the water issues around us both locally and globally, then I will have achieved an awful lot through the investment of my time.
Here on our site, you will also be able to share in just how water issues affect other countries and their peoples. In terms of key global water facts – for example, did you know that almost 1 billion people do not have access to safe drinking water? Shocking in this day and age – isn’t it? 74% of all deaths in Cambodia are attributed to water-borne illnesses (population 14.5 million). In Ethiopia, women walk for several hours twice a day in bare feet, to access water for their families, when most of us take the tap water in our homes for granted!
